Belvedere del Malvento is one of the most sought-after and evocative naturalistic destinations of the Pollino National Park. The Belvedere del Malvento is a unique place, which delimits the border between Basilicata and Calabria, cut out between the Pollino mountains. Belvedere del Malvento is one of the most sought-after and evocative naturalistic destinations of the Pollino National Park. It is located near Mount Timpa di Capanne and Serra del Prete. It is easily reached by crossing Piano Ruggio, along the path that opens up through the woods. In a fairytale intersection of centuries-old beech trees, you take the only and wonderful road that leads to the Belvedere, in the shade of the trees. The Belvedere del Malvento opens up right at the end of the wood. This place, in ancient times, was used as a cableway base for the transport of timber. Today, however, it is a beautiful panoramic terrace overlooking Calabria. From up here it is easy to cast a glance on the plain of Castrovillari and on the opposite peaks of the Orsomarso mountains.
