This medieval village in the province of Potenza has been the Italian capital of murales since 1988. The historic center, in fact, has over 400 graffiti, which are grafted in the wake of a tradition started in 1983 by the Romanian expressionist painter Constantin Udroiu as a tribute to Giovanni Di Gregorio, a very influential 17th century Satrianese painter of the Neapolitan school.
